This cake idea caught Caitlin's eye.....on the top layer of the cake the scrolled embellished initials from an earlier post would be the perfect topper and plum colored flowers could be mixed in between some of the cupcakes..........Different... but this idea is catching on since cake is getting sooooo expensive per slice.  It will be interesting to see what the kids end up picking out.

So far this website has the best prices on tower vases.  These are 24" high for the centerpieces at the reception.  We will need at least 30 of them.  We can get these as low as $7.99 each.  (http://www.save-on-crafts.com).  We were actually hoping to find a copper/bronze tower vase.....Will keep looking!

LOVE THIS SHEER FABRIC FOR RUNNERS AND BOWS

Here's an idea for table runners and bows.  It looks coppery....but the website lists it as brown with gold swirls......Grandma Betty is going to order a sample to see the true color.  If it is more of a copper/bronze color and Caitlin likes it.......wouldn't this look BEAUTIFUL  as a runner over a plum table cloth with matching chair bows?

Bow estimates: 
Fabric is 25" x 3 yard pieces $6.60 ($2.20 per yard)
3 bows per piece of fabric which means each bow is 81/4 inches wide by 108" long
$2.20 x 300 chairs = $660.00

Table runner estimates: Fabric is 25" x 3 yard pieces $6.60 ($2.20 per yard)
2 table runners from each piece which means each runner is 12.5 inches wide by 108" long

300 x .75= $225.00

Total is $1,165.00  (not including the long tables and skirting for food, cake or brides table)......Sounds like this is within, if not lower than the caterer's price which was basic ivory......This way we add style and color!

POSSIBLE BRIDESMAIDS' FLOWERS

Caitlin found this flower bouquet for the bridesmaids.  She is thinking that they will wear plum colored dresses and carry ivory/cream/champagne/bronze colored flowers with plum tulle and plum ribbon.  Then Caitlin's bouquet may be the opposite. Her dress is ivory so maybe her bouquet will be plum as the main color with ivory/cream/champagne/bronze colored tulle and ribbon.  Time will tell!

PHOTOGRAPHER

I met with the photographer that Caitlin liked from the bridal show a few weekends ago.  After looking at several photographers from the bridal shows, it became apparent that you pay for what you get.  If you don't want to spend money on photographers then you may end up with someone who does photography as a hobby.  We wanted to go with someone who does this line of work as their profession and is backed by insurance if something (God forbid) would happen to the pictures.  (Which actually happened to my stepmother.....none of the pictures developed properly and she lost that whole day with no backup plan!).  Going with someone who is a professional, backed by insurance (insurance covers recreating the day for pictures) makes us feel much more comfortable about paying more!

We have decided on the package with unlimited hours, including an engagement photo session and 2 photographers to capture the wedding day on both the bride and groom's side from the beginning of the day (hair, makeup and so on.....) to the wedding and the reception.  We will also be getting a thick mount album, and three purse size parent albums, proof images on DVD, 60-4X6's or printable CD.

DREAMING ABOUT THE FUTURE!

The other day, Caitlin told me something and I didn't want to forget it.....So here it is:

Caitlin and Joey were watching something on TV that had Amelia Earhart in it.......Joey commented that he liked the name Amelia and that it would be a cute girl's name.  Caitlin agreed and told me about it then added she could be called Mia for short, but not sure what middle name she would have.  "That sounds good with our last name doesn't it, Mom?"  

Of course I loved the name sooooo much that I wanted to remember the name by blogging about it.......Watch them have all boys! LOL
