I found this website where you can buy table linens and accessories for the price of renting them (sometimes even cheaper!) We may buy the linens and then sell all of the wedding stuff later.....we might break even or lose less than renting will cost us in the long run!   http://www.cvlinens.com

THE DATE IS SET IN STONE....FINALLY!

9/24/11 is set in stone!  Caitlin is one of those people who just know what she wants when she sees it and the Palace for the reception is an example of this.  She wanted to have this place soooooo bad that she was willing to change the original date of 9/10/11 to a date that would work!  Her wedding dress is another example of just knowing.  Once she found it, there was no question in her mind that it was the dress for her!......and then there is Joe.....she just knew when they met that he was the one.  Not many can say that they dated since she was 16 years old!

WEDDING DRESS!

After last weekends Bridal Show, Caitlin saw some Maggie Sottero gowns that she wanted to try on.....so today, we had a girls day......or should I say a Caitlin Day!  After about the 4th or 5th dress, she found the ONE!  In fact she refused to try on anymore....she just knew!  She cried, we all cried.......Then we went to lunch.  This will be a day I will never forget!  (Sorry, no dress pictures....it's a SURPRISE!)

ANOTHER POSSIBLE DATE CHANGE :-(

Another road block in the venue for the reception.  First off the location that Caitlin wants is the Palace Pavilion (see earlier post)....so much that she talked it over with Joey and they both agreed to change their original date of 9-10-11 due to a festival that would be located just outside the building.  Not good for a wedding reception.  We didn't want drunks peeking in the windows!  The kids compromised on the date change to keep the venue.  They picked 10-15-11.......well  here's the e-mail I received today:

  I understand you are interested in Saturday, October 15, 2011 rather  than Saturday, September 10, 2011.  Unfortunately I am unable to book  any rentals between the months of October thru May due to that being  our Season at the theatre.  For those months I can only book rentals  once the Season is in place.  The 2011-2012 Season won't be finalized  until early 2011.   I have placed your name and contact information on our waiting list  for the date of Saturday, October 15, 2011.  If you are interested in  a date between June-September of 2011 or you have any questions,  please let me know.

We are definitely not waiting until early 2011 to see if the October date is available!  Back to the drawing board.  After talking it over with the kids, Caitlin decided that her heart is set on this venue.....which means another date change!  Now we are seeing if 9-24-11 is available!  Thank God we have time to do all of this planning.  If the wedding was this year (2010 vs. 2011), I think I'd be a bit stressed out by now!

TABLE DECORATIONS

Caitlin found this goody bag idea online yesterday.  Thinking of maybe a plum colored bag with bronze ribbon.......It will be interesting to see what is decided upon.....sooooo many neat ideas!

BRIDAL SHOW WINNER!

We went to another bridal show closer to home.  Sooooo happy we did because Caitlin won a DJ service package worth almost $400.00!!!!  The package that fits our needs include:

*Sound system custom tailored to the venue's size and acoustical needs
*Wide variety of music from big band era to present
*Wireless microphone for toasts and other announcements
*Personalized questionnaire and consultation before the wedding

Total is $845.00 minus the $395.00 giveaway.......equals a grand total of $450.00 that we pay which is less than $100.00 per hour!  WOOT!!!!!

Caitlin also saw a few bridal dresses that she would like to try on!  YEA!  I hope she finds one she likes.....If not, we still have plenty of time to look!

COUNTDOWN TICKER CHANGE!

It's official, Caitlin asked me to change the countdown ticker from 9/10/11 to 10/15/11.  They made up their minds to change the wedding date due to the Marion Popcorn Festival issues versus the Palace reception hall venue.  So I guess the next logical step is to put a deposit down on the reception hall and book the church!  The later date gives the kids (Yes they will ALWAYS be kids to me!) one extra month to figure out their new lives together when it comes to careers and possibly buying a new home or renting!  I am so excited for them!

BRIDAL SHOW

Today was our first bridal show. Paula, Caitlin, Audrea, Grandma Betty and I went together and had our fill of cake! Here are some pictures of cakes that caught Caitlin's eye:

 

These cakes all have tiers on top of each other, ribbon and swirls.....just like the cake in an earlier post! So I won't be surprised if she ends up with a cake similar to one of these.

We also enjoyed listening to the live music.  I think we will have something like this playing at the church as the guests arrive and for the processional and recessional.  This is the special added touch that makes the wedding elegant!

After the bridal show, we all went to eat at the Spaghetti Warehouse.  Here's a picture of Caitlin and her best friend Audra (maid of honor).

Winter Quarter- Junior Year of Nursing School (Jan. 2010)

School is flying by!  Caitlin is in the middle of her Junior year of Nursing School.  I am soooo very proud of her!  This time next year, she will be on the count down to graduation and then a wedding!  It will be here before we know it.  This weekend, we are going to our first bridal show.  We are looking forward to gathering ideas.....of course we will post them on this blog in order to keep track of likes and dislikes.  The only thing that I will not post is the wedding dress, when picked......SOMETHING HAS TO REMAIN A SURPRISE FOR THE WEDDING DAY!

BABY SHOWER!

Caitlin planned a surprise baby shower for her sister, Courtney.  Baby Nevaeh will be arriving around March 17th, 2010........Future flower girl in Caitlin and Joey's Wedding!!!!
